The New Intellectual Forum was established in 1988 as the Chicago area's premier Objectivist Salon, a group interested in the ideas of Ayn Rand.

NIF's activities consist of both web-based discussions and monthly meetings. The online forum is hosted by Google Groups. Meetings are usually on the third Saturday of the month. You can receive announcements for them by subscribing to the online forum at Google Groups. An optional dinner is usually followed by an 8 PM meeting with a designated topic. Discussion topics range from philosophy to physics, dating to derivatives - according to the interests and choices of the members. We also have two parties a year. A basic understanding of Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism is assumed.
